Our founding member, Barbara S. Williams, was selected by the Virginia Law Foundation to be a Virginia Law Fellow. Ms. Williams will be inducted into the Class of 2020 Virginia Law Fellows on January 23, 2020, at a dinner during the annual meeting of the Virginia Bar Association in Williamsburg, VA. The Virginia Law Foundation is a philanthropic organization formed to promote the rule of law, access to justice and law-related education.
The Fellows of the Virginia Law Foundation are recognized as leaders in the profession, not only in their practices, but also in their communities. Ms. Williams is a past President of both the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and Virginia Women Attorneys Association. Last year, she was named as one of the Most Influential Women in the Law for the Commonwealth of Virginia. She has been selected to be a Washington, DC “SuperLawyer” for over ten (10) consecutive years. SuperLawyers are nominated by their peers and undergo a rigorous vetting process. She is a member of the Boyd Graves Committee, a body of lawyers, law professors and judges who gather and debate to suggest changes to improve our civil justice system. She is currently on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program.
“To be named as a Fellow of the VA Law Foundation is a tremendous honor. The Foundation provides grants that have real impact on all kinds of people in Virginia. I am proud to be a member of the Class of 2020 Virginia Law Foundation Fellows,” said Barbara.
In the community at large, Barbara is an honorary member of the Board of Trustees of Brain Injury Services (having served on that board for over a decade) and has also had a leadership role with the Loudoun School Business Partnership Council for many years. She was a member of the Loudoun Sheep Producers Association and collected vegetables from farmers’ markets for Loudoun Hunger Relief, working for an organization called “Feed Loudoun.” Barbara believes that if you help others, you will be rewarded many times over.
Barbara practices personal injury law at WilliamsFord in the historic districts of Winchester and Leesburg, Virginia, with Cory R. Ford and Peter A. Pentony. You can reach Barbara at 703-777-6535 or send her an email at Barbara@WilliamsFordLaw.com
